About Me

Councillor Alasdair MacPherson

I was born in Cowie in 1962 and lived there until I was 10. My family then moved to Randloph Crescent in Hillpark, Bannockburn until I got married in 1984. I have lived in and around all the villages in the Bannockburn ward all my life.

My family is the most important thing to me and I love spending time with my three grandsons. I also enjoy a round of golf and a few pints on a Friday night with my friends.

I joined the SNP when I was 17 and left the party in 2022. I was elected as an Independent councillor in 2022 and am very proud to have been the first ever elected independent councillor for Stirling Council.

I have a very good track record at representing my constituents and work 365 days a year. I answer calls and emails while on holiday and on Christmas day. Being a councillor is not a part time job, people have problems every day in life and it really annoys me when I see on holiday messages on elected members bounce back emails.

I am socialist – but there is no political party which fully represents my beliefs so I love being independent.

I passionately believe in Scottish independence and its only a matter of time until that happens as our people are waking up to the fact that the Westminster parties treat Scotland with utter contempt and rob us of our natural resources.
